![]() It was found that the level of chronic fatigue in the group of the examined police officers was high (sten 8th). The following research methods were used: 1) Latack Coping Scale examining stress coping strategies at work (positive thinking, direct action, avoidance/resignation, seeking help, alcohol or stimulants use) 2) Mood Assessment Questionnaire CIS-20R examining the level of chronic fatigue and its components (subjective feeling of fatigue, impaired attention and concentration, reduced motivation, reduced activity) 3) Personal questionnaire providing socio-demographic data. The aim of this study was to evaluate the level of chronic fatigue in police officers and its relationship with the strategies of coping with occupational stress.Ī group of 61 police officers was examined. The nature of the service as well as shift work and psychological costs incurred by police officers contribute to the emergence of chronic fatigue. Therefore, their strategies of coping with stress are particularly important, because they play an important role in their functioning at work. Police officers make one of the many occupational groups that are particularly threatened by contact with a number of stressors. Work as one of the most important activities in human life is related to stressful and difficult situations. ELUCIDATE POLICE SOFTWAREWe hope that the development of PBL-based virtual laboratory media can improve dramatically, such as the use of 3-dimensional and 4-dimensional software to improve students' understanding of critical and constructive thinking without losing quality. The ability to think critically is a basic competency that must be possessed by students. The online version contains supplementary material available at 10.1007/s11891-z. Implications for the development of social public safety policies are discussed. It was observed a mapping of risk situations in parking lots, as well as attitudes that can prevent crimes. The scores of the two groups were predicted by human values. A psychometrically valid risk perception and security attitude scale is presented.
ELUCIDATE POLICE FREEThis study has the objective of offering an instrument to assess risk perception in public and private parking lots of free circulation, as well as to understand and describe how individual values influence this variable regarding civilians' and police officers' perception of hazards present in free circulation public and private parking lots. Furthermore, there is limited literature on such crimes in South America, particularly in Brazil. Studies on crime and parking facilities also appear to have a strong focus on car theft with small emphasis on psychological and cognitive variables to investigate potential crimes in this environment. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to try to define the field of police psychology through a detailed description of the role of psychologists in the police forces. Despite the evident interest in this area of psychology, in our region it is still not clear enough what police psychology is and what is the role of psychologists in the police. Police psychology offers much more than individual interventions. The practice of calling a psychologist to the police service only when necessary should be changed because in that way not all the benefits of a wide range of talents and skills that a psychologist can provide to the police can be obtained. The basic tasks of a police psychologist are evaluation, conducting training and coaching of police officers, assisting in organizational development and providing psychological services. By definition, police psychology is ‘the research and application of psychological principles and clinical skills for law enforcement and public safety’. Police psychology is a sub discipline of forensic psychology. ![]()
